Recently I went to Carnevale for two days. There's no point writing about it all, because it was obviously great, and some of the costumes made me want a fancy dress party - but what I love about Venice is that once you're out of the Piazza San Marco/the Rialto, you can quite easily find areas which are more or less deserted, like the Ghetto Ebraico, or parts of Dorsoduro, and that's when the masked figures seem all the more surprising, when you suddenly comes across one or two having a morning stroll.
Anyway, some quick sketches and artwork.
